THE 2012 EDITION IS DEDICATED TO WATER
The second edition of NotteVerde (Green Night) will be dedicated to the subject of water. The event, which met with considerable success in Rovereto last year, thus returns once again to the historic centre of the ‘City of Oak’, extending its horizons, moving into new districts of the city and also prolonging its total duration. Indeed, the rich programme of events will officially kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday 1 June, with an imaginary “cutting of the tape”. It will then continue throughout the night up to Saturday 2 June. Finally, the event will have a follow-on - as also took place last year – on Sunday 3 June, when World Environment Day will be celebrated.
In short the event will involve not just one night, but three days of intense activities dedicated to "green" issues, namely to environmental sustainability, renewable energy and ecologically sustainable lifestyles. The formula, already tried out in the first edition, provides for a series of events – organised activities, games for children, performances, music, sport and public meetings – combined with stands and displays, art, culture, food and wine and guided trips.
The event will revolve around the central theme of water, developed in different ways, taking a look at the relationship between the city and its watercourses, water resources as an asset to be safeguarded, water as a source of energy, water as a source of life and many other issues.
In 2012 the NotteVerde, which in the first edition was concentrated above all around Corso Bettini, will this year involve the whole of the historic centre, from Piazza Rosmini up to the LungoLeno. Particular attention will be paid to the ecological sustainability of the whole event, with containment of equipment, recourse to sources of renewable energy when possible and reduction of CO2 emissions to the indispensable minimum.
